Transcription Services

Transcription Service is a collaborative effort between the Instructional Design Center (IDC), Web Accessibility (IT), and the Center for Student Accessibility (CSA). This service is in support of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) and Sections 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 as well as the Kentucky Accessible Information Technology (AIT) Act, KRS 61.980 – 61.988, enacted in 2000.

Transcription is available for the following groups by priority:

  1. All audio and video media products used for EKU Online instruction.
  2. All audio and video media products used for classroom instruction where a student is registered with the Center for Student Accessibility (CSA).
  3. We are unable to meet most other requests simply because of the volume of work required to complete the two groups listed above.

Media must be compatible with the program used by the Transcription Service. The accepted file types are: WAV, MP3, MP4, and WMV.  In addition, commercially produced DVDs and YouTube links can be transcribed if permitted by copyright.
