Uploading Videos to Microsoft Stream

Microsoft stream is a popular video hosting platform with some advantages over other streaming services.

  1. In your web browser, go to stream.microsoft.com and click Sign In.
  2. Enter your email address for the username and email password.
  3. Tutorials are available from this landing page, or you may click Create > Upload video:
  4. Drag your video to this screen or click the browse link to search for the video you would like to upload.
  5. The upload process will begin and you can enter pertinent information related to the video:
    • Video Name
    • Video Description
    • Video Language
    • Selecting a thumbnail to represent the video
    • Permissions:
      • The default is to Allow everyone in your company to view this video. This is the recommended option to avoid individual access issues.
    • Additional Options:
      • Commenting turned on/off
      • Noise suppression
      • Autogenerate Captions
      • Subtitles
  6. Click Publish after the video has finished uploading.
  7. You may click My Content > Videos to see the video. Note: It may take some time to complete the processing/rendering protocols necessary for streaming. Note that this will result in accurate captioning of the video in most circumstance, though we strongly suggest checking this for accuracy:
